Texts by Robin Metcalfe, Crystal Mowry, Jan Peacock, Ann MacDonald, and Lisa Stone and Jim Zanzi
Enclosed within a hardcover slipcase, this thoroughly illustrated volume with a four page foldout opens to reveal David R. Harpers’s remarkable artistic practice. Working in a range of disparate disciplines including embroidery and taxidermy, Harper creates elaborate objects that situate themselves between sculpture and public memorial. Texts by Robin Metcalfe, Crystal Mowry, Jan Peacock, Lisa Stone and Jim Zanzi comment on Harper’s work, while the publication’s subtitle refers to a French expression that evokes the uncertain time of day just before evening when one cannot distinguish a dog from a wolf, or the familiar from the dangerous.
